Welcome to REC CM

Hello, my name is Mrs Manock and this is my 20th year of teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage. I am EYFS phase leader and I am passionate about my role. My main aim is to provide each and every child with a happy and safe environment in which they can learn and develop whilst ‘playing, exploring and having fun'.

I work in reception alongside my Teaching Assistant Mrs Asif. As a team we strive to provide exciting learning opportunities throughout the year. The experiences gained by the children through the planned activities have proved fun, exciting and invaluable towards their development in the Early Years Curriculum.

Our school day starts at 8:45am and finishes at 3:10pm. Children should arrive no later than 8:55 as the morning register will be taken at this time and the reception door will be shut promptly at 9:00am.

At the end of the school day the doors open at 15:10. It is important you drop off and collect your child on time every day as lateness can disrupt the daily routine for children and staff. Late arrivals should make their way via the school office.

The children have daily numeracy, phonics and literacy lessons and the other areas of the EYFS curriculum are frequently brought into these subjects and the continuous provision. As the year goes on we welcome parents in for a variety of reasons including parent’s evenings, assemblies and stay and play sessions to help you further understand the progress we are trying to achieve with the children and the activities you can do at home to support their learning.

As you may well be aware, a large portion of the Reception day allows children to choose whether they play inside or outside. It is extremely important that you ensure your child comes to school with a suitable coat that is waterproof and will keep them warm in the cold. We also advise that your child has a pair of wellies in school for especially damp days.

As well as this, we ask that all children have at least one spare change of clothes left in school at all times. Even if your child is toilet trained they may need to be changed if they become muddy, wet etc.

Free fruit is provided every day in Reception and milk is available for you to purchase for the year, if your child has any special dietary requirements, allergies or health conditions please speak to a member of the Reception team.

Please ensure all clothes including school jumper and coat are clearly labelled with your child’s full name or initials.

We are extremely lucky to be amongst a diverse community and love to hear about stories of family traditions and celebrations from different cultures. If you would like to come in and share an experience with the children then please let one of our team know as like the children, we would all be overjoyed to hear and learn from you.

We appreciate that your child's first years in school can be just as daunting for the parents/carers as it can for the child. If you have any queries or questions, please come and speak to either myself at the end of the day and we will try to help.

We are all really looking forward to working with your children and helping them to on their educational journey.

Thank you

Mrs Manock
