Year 6 Newsletter - Summer 2017

As you are all aware, we are now making our final preparations for the Key Stage 2 SATs. The children are all working exceptionally hard in class and in after school boosters.

This can be a stressful time, however, there are lots of things that you can do to support your children. They should:

  • Be on time for school every day.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast to give them energy for the day ahead.
  • Complete their revision books.
  • Find some time to relax and get enough sleep to make sure that they are fresh. Early nights are the key to success!
  • Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated.
  • Talk to you or another trusted adult about any concerns they may have about SATs. It is normal to be anxious but the children must not get stressed. We are all here to support them.

Between us, we will do everything we can to help your children get the results they deserve, and then enjoy their last term of primary school!

Please remember, Year 2 and 6 will be in school on the INSET days – Thursday 4th May and Friday 5th May.

There will be no Breakfast Club these days, so please ensure your child arrives promptly at 8.40 am. They will leave school at 3.15 pm as there are no Boosters or after school clubs on either of these two days.

Finally, just a reminder about the timetable for SATs Week:

Monday 8th May – English Reading

Tuesday 9th May – English grammar, punctuation and spelling – Paper 1: Questions

                                       - Maths Paper 2: Reasoning
