Our Year 6 classes are thoroughly enjoying The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper, a gripping story full of mystery, magic, and adventure. The children have been hooked by the tale of Will, an ordinary boy who discovers he has extraordinary powers and a vital role in the ancient struggle between the forces of the Light and the Dark. Each chapter has sparked excitement and lively discussion, with the class eager to predict what might happen next. It has been wonderful to see how engaged they are with the book, and how much they are enjoying sharing this classic story together.
